where have I been?

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I’m putting the blog on a temporary hiatus while I put the finishing touches on the new website and design an equally fun new blog.

So where have I been??? More on these when the new blog makes it’s debut.

holiday mini-session announcement

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

hi everyone…

I am very sorry (but also very happy) to let you know that I am completely booked solid for the remainder of the season. It has been a season full of wonderful clients with the most amazingly beautiful children.

However,,, since the requests continue to roll in, I have extended the season one week and am offering mini-sessions in Hoboken and Westfield late in November. Perhaps we did a session earlier in the year and you’d love some updated pictures for your holiday card, perhaps you’ve been planning to call me, or maybe you’re just not ready for a full session. Whatever the case, I’ll be more than happy to accommodate you at my mini-sessions. Here are the details:

Hoboken:

November 22nd, 2-4 pm

November 23rd, 8-11 am

Westfield:

November 22nd, 8-11 am

November 23rd, 2-4 pm

$200 gets you:

  • 25 minute on-location session
  • 10-15 images in your private online gallery
  • complimentary custom holiday card design

…i recently had the opportunity to photograph the sweetest and most mature brother and sister at their home. Mom called me after seeing some of my images in the Westfield Fast Frame and commissioned me to make portraits of her kids young adults. Not only are they both beautiful and handsome–they are also friendly, kind and loving.

Mom really wants black and white images, so nearly all of the images from the session have been processed this way. I threw in a couple of images where the color was just too amazing to pass up. Plus, check out their beautiful eyes.

PS. Here’s a picture of some of my images in Michael’s frame shop. I took this in the early spring when he first started showing my images, but I never had a chance to post this. It’s kind of hard to see the frames because of the glare on the front window, but if you’re ever in Westfield, take a peek in his shop, he has an incredible range of frames, and you’ll get to see some of my recent work there. The best thing about Michael is that he gives me discount cards to pass on to all of my clients : )

labor day weekend is over…let the holiday rush begin!

Monday, September 1st, 2008

I know, I know, I hate walking into the mall in August and seeing fake snow on pine trees too!

…but now is the time to plan your session if you’re hoping to give the gift of custom photographs and hoping to W*O*W your family and friends with the most unique holiday cards featuring images of your family. Remember…sessions are scheduled 4 to 6 weeks in advance (and there are only a handful of dates remaining for October) and each card is custom designed with your input.

Here are some of my favorite cards from last year~

 2008 Holiday Deadlines

November 16: last date for sessions

November 30: last date to order prints and custom cards*

*Orders received after this date and required for the holidays will be subject to a 40% rush surcharge

for a good cause

every year I give a way a few sessions as fund raisers for to local groups. This family won a session and framed 11×14 print at the auction to benefit the Westfield YMCA Preschool. I couldn’t have hoped for a more beautiful family to win.

Congratulations again, and I’ll see you soon to help you choose your frame!

an international affair…

it’s fun to see how closely we are all connected…

This family contacted me all of the way from Sweden to take pictures of them while they would be in town visiting relatives on their baby girl’s first birthday. We soon discovered that one of Mom’s closest childhood friends is my direct neighbor. what luck!

for all of the photographers reading…there is no photoshop magic in those eyes

i love this quiet moment between mom and baby…

i have to admit i’m jealous…

I just can’t deny it…I’m envious of this image:

I’ll be working towards getting someone to take one of me and Mason that’s just like it : ). This family was so natural in front of the camera, and isn’t Mom simply radiant as she gets a sweet kiss from her little guy.

This is the baby sister, she laughs hysterically when her brother sings to her.

…and she pretty much smiled for the whole session

These are the men of the family, they take good care of the girls, and they love m&ms

…there she is still smiling.

a few of my own…

…with Mason feeling under the weather, I had a chance to catch some alone time with my little girl today. I still find it harder to photograph my own children than my clients, but I guess that’s what makes them good practice. We were hanging out in the “office” which will someday (hopefully soon) be her very own room. Today was the first time that she actually mentioned wanting a big-girl bed. I didn’t mention how that would mean she wouldn’t get to sleep in the same room as Mason…we’ll save that for another day when he’s feeling better…

a westfield family

 …so much fun!
I love getting to work with families in our new hometown, Westfield. Westfield has the most beautiful parks that just seem like they’re made for photographers.  This little girl was just full of smiles, and had a fantastic time looking at all of the beautiful leaves that had just fallen in Westfield.
